What is being asked on the Nov. 6 proposals
Voters who live within the boundaries of Willow Run Community Schools and Ypsilanti Public Schools are being asked to vote on two measures pertaining to consolidation of school districts.
1. Voting to approve a unified district
2. Essentially transferring nonhomestead taxes (taxes on businesses) from the two separate districts to the newly created district. The ballot language uses the word "increase" but businesses will continue to pay the same 18 mills currently assessed for public school district funding.
